W&G Marketing Celebrates 30 Years

W&G Marketing Co., Inc., headquartered in Ames, Iowa, will mark 30 years of serving the specialty meat industry in September 2009.


W&G Marketing is a specialized meat processing and trading company that serves foodservice distributors, caterers, restaurant chains, and institutional accounts, as well as direct retail sales. In the past 30 years, W&G Marketing has grown to include a sales office, cold storage, and wholesale warehouse located in Ames, with processing plants in Jewell and Sidney, Iowa. W&G Marketing has been proud to supply many Iowa families with employment and will celebrate the anniversary with a company-wide event September 19. more

Bobcat to Consolidate Operations in North Dakota

(WEST FARGO, N.D. — Sept. 2, 2009) Bobcat Company today announced that it is transferring all North American machinery production to its original manufacturing facility in Gwinner, N.D. This will result in discontinuing production at Bobcat’s Bismarck, N.D., plant by the end of 2009.


Currently, Bobcat mini excavators, the Toolcat™ utility work machine, the S70 skid-steer loader and mini track loaders are made in Bismarck, while all other Bobcat skid-steer loaders, compact track loaders, and all-wheel steer loaders are manufactured in Gwinner. more

Animal Ag Alliance Appoints New Communications Coordinator

August 31, 2009 - The Animal Agriculture Alliance has appointed Sarah Hubbart as Communications Coordinator. In her new role, she will design and implement all aspects of the Alliance’s communications strategy. Hubbart hopes to strengthen the Alliance’s relationship with the media and will work to expand the organization’s online presence in order to educate a wider audience about the importance of animal agriculture.


“I am thrilled to welcome Sarah into her new role with the Alliance,” said Executive Vice President Kay Johnson Smith. “She brings positive energy and a new vision to our communications initiatives, as well as expertise in online social networking venues, such as Facebook and Twitter. I have no doubt Sarah will strengthen the Alliance’s communications footprint with more emphasis on positive public outreach.” more

GROWMARK Director Elections Announced

GROWMARK, Inc., Bloomington, Ill., announced the results of director and officer elections, held in conjunction with the regional cooperative’s annual meeting in Chicago.


Five of the cooperative’s 16 director seats, established by geographic zone, were elected and will serve three-year terms. GROWMARK’s six established governance zones cover all of North America; there are multiple directors per zone. One at-large director represents Illinois, Iowa, and Wisconsin Farm Bureaus. GROWMARK is affiliated with Farm Bureau in those states. more
